| Cool Hill Films has been making short films, music promos, documentaries and quality commissions since 2001. Award winning writer/director Tom Bainton has had two premieres at the Cannes Film Festival.
There are also features in development - 'Her, My Liar' is the ultimate rock n' roll thriller, 'Binary Man' is a sci-fi thriller which could be pitched as 'Multiplicity' meets 'The Fly', and 'The Warehouse' is a low budget horror that is going to be a co-production with Yokon Films. The films and promos on the site are both available to view in large and small formats - if your broadband is 8meg or more, the large movies should stream quickly, as the average movie size is 10meg. Alternatively check them out in the small format. News 30.6.10 All been very hectic on the corporate front, and shaping up to be a busy summer. Lots of writing going on, with a redraft of 'The Warehouse' that's taking shape - as well as a more secret project that I can't really talk about yet. There's also some work going on on another documentary project about a Human Cannonball. 5.11.09 The website for the new corporate division of Cool Hill was launched today. Click on the 'clients' link above to go to the Rare Prominence website. 14.4.09 A long time since the last update, but been working like a dog on several corporate gigs. I'm putting the finishing touches on the rock and roll thriller (now re-titled 27) and am about to go out and start pitching it. This along with re-working 'The Warehouse', as Self Storage has now been re-titled, so lots going on. All this and trying to make sure that we don't get caught up in this economic tsunami... 5.6.08 Work begins on a new script - a horror, 'Self Storage'. The story has been written with Simon King of Yokon Films, and so now the business of writing the screenplay begins. And then we find the money... Lots of work on for clients, and have just delivered something for BBC Worldwide. And - all new blog section - so check out what we've been up to. And hello if you're visiting from South Africa, where 'Unrequited' has been selected for a covermount DVD for Maxim. 18.08.07 Long time since the site has been updated, so apologies. But we've been very busy. Her, My Liar is getting tidied up before being pitched to all and sundry, and Tom was commissioned to shoot a lot of live visuals for Underworld for their current tour. Plus we've moved - new contact details on the contact page... Oh - and The End of the Line is now available for sale through the website www.farewellroutemaster.co.uk. They are a great collection of films - support us all and buy a copy! 20.04.06 If you're going to see the Glastonbury film, keep an eye out in the end credits for a shout for Cool Hill Films. Julien Temple used some Super8 footage shot by Tom at previous festivals. We here at Cool Hill can't recommend this documentary highly enough (and not just because we're in it) - it captures perfectly the fun, music and madness that is Glasto. Roll on 2007. 10.03.06 Disaster. Injury stops filming. Due to a tumble down stairs, shooting for this years Straight 8 Cannes entry has had to be abandoned. A twisted knee meant that filming the short which involves a lot of walking is going to have to wait... 08.02.06 Now on the Movies page, 'The End of the Line' premiered at the sold out Farewell Routemaster film night at the Brixton Ritzy...Shooting begins this week on the latest Straight 8 film... 08.12.05 The new site goes live... let us know your thoughts... 01.12.05 More DVD action for 'The Fun Guy' - Straight 8 are to release a 'Best of 2005' DVD through their website.
