I wanted it to have a real Heath Robinson look, whilst also giving a submarine feel as a nod to the Beatles - so I got some pictures of industrial pipes, and played around with them to get the right shape. I also made the propeller out of eggtimers, and gave it a sundial fin. I shot a couple of clocks using timelapse, and then filmed lipsync of the track to put in the porthole.

Building the machine meant that I could introduce it into all sorts of environments that I created in Motion. I tried to give it a psychedelic tinge, and a feel of the classic 60s sci-fi 'Fantastic Journey.' Old photos and maps, along with some 70s public information films gave it a range of worlds to move through.
